Formaldehyde Safety Required for faculty and staff who teach and/or work in human and veterinary anatomy labs, and related anatomy spaces, where formalin preserved tissue is used and stored. May be required for faculty and staff who work with formalin preserved tissue or formalin in clinical or research areas, depending on the amount of formalin in the area and the potential for exposure above 0.1 ppm. Overhead Crane Required for MSU employees who operate an overhead crane or gantry crane rated 5 tons or more. Required for permit. Covers basic regulatory requirements, general operating safety, signals, and basic rigging. Covers all classroom requirements for qualified rigger, overhead crane operator, and operating smaller lifting devices. Can be adjusted to the needs of the user. Occupational Initial Training

Radiation Safety Required for any individual using radioactive material at MSU. Fulfills the currently existing requirements of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the State of Michigan licenses and permits. Radiation Initial Training
Radiation Sealed Source For persons working with gas chromatographs (GC) equipped with radioactive electron capture devices (ECD). Covers specific risks associated with working with an ECD-equipped GC; does not meet the requirements for other uses of radioactive material, such as moisture density gauges or laboratory tracer work.
